PENGEMBANGAN KOLEKSI DI PERPUSTAKAAN SEKOLAH MENENGAH PERTAMA/MADRASAH TSANAWIYAH (SMP/MTS) Arsyad Nuzul Hikmat Pascasarjana UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta Email: arsyad_nh@yahoo.com Abstrak: Pengembangan koleksi di perpustakaan merupakan salah satu kegiatan penting yang harus dilaksanakan oleh semua jenis perpustakaan. Dengan melakukan pengembangan koleksi maka perpustakaan mampu menyediakan koleksi- koleksi yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan perpustakaan serta kebutuhan pemustaka sehingga kebutuhan informasi mereka akan tercukupi. Perpustakaan sekolah sebagai sebuah sarana pendidikan yang mendukung kegiatan belajar mengajar disekolah, dituntut untuk selalu mengembangkan koleksinya agar mampu menunjang kebutuhan informasi siswa, guru, serta para pengelola sekolah. Artikel ini akan menjelaskan secara singkat mengenai perpustakaan sekolah menengah pertama/madrasah tsanawiyah kemudian proses dan tahapan yang dilakukan dalam pengembangan koleksi. Outputnya diharapkan pengelola perpustakaan sekolah menengah pertama/madrasah tsanawiyah mengerti dan memahami langkah-langkah dalam pengembangan koleksi guna memenuhi kebutuhan informasi di sekolah. Abstract: The development of collections in libraries is one of the important activities that must be implemented by all types of libraries. With the development of the collection, the library is able to provide collections that fit the needs of the library and the needs of the settlers so that their information needs will be fulfilled. The Library of schools as an educational tool that supports teaching and learning activities in the school, is required to always develop their collection in order to support the needs of information on students, teachers, and school managers. This article will explain briefly about the middle school libraries/Madrasah MTS then processes and stages that are performed in the development of the collection.
