Basantes Andrade 3 RESUMEN: En la Zona I del Ecuador específcamente en la provin- cia de Imbabura se encuentra ubicada la Ciudad del Conocimiento Yachay, sitio en el cual por sus características académicas y tecnoló- gicas paulatinamente se ha convertido en un atractivo turístico con un fujo importante de visitantes, razón por la cual esta investiga- ción busca identifcar la oferta de servicios turísticos y determinar el perfl y las características de la demanda que visita esta zona. Me- diante la aplicación de una metodología bibliográfca y de campo fue posible defnir los principales elementos presentes en la oferta y la demanda que visita Yachay, este análisis en primer lugar defne los atractivos e instalaciones turísticas más importantes de la zona, luego analiza la información básica de los turistas, a continuación se investigaron las motivaciones del viaje, y por último, mide el nivel de satisfacción de los turistas al fnalizar el recorrido. En el desarrollo se indica la estructura del proyecto Yachay, su oferta académica, más adelante se enfatiza la zona turística y además se detalla el fujo de turistas que visitan la zona. Al fnal el estudio con- cluye con una visualización de las características sobre la demanda turística en Yachay. Palabras clave: Yachay, Turismo, Oferta, Demanda. ABSTRACT: In the Zone 1 of Ecuador specifcally in the provin- ce of Imbabura is located Yachay the City of Knowledge, n this site for their academic and technological characteristics gra- dually has become a tourist attraction with a signifcant fow of visitors, important reason because this research seeks to iden- tify the range of tourist services and determine the profle and characteristics of the tourists that visit this area. By applying bibliographic and feld methodology was possible to defne the main elements in the supply and demand Yachay visiting, this analysis frst defnes the major tourist attractions and facilities in the area, then discusses basic information tourists, then tra- vel motivations were investigated, and fnally, measures the le- vel of satisfaction of tourists. The research shows the structure of the Yachay project, its academic oferings, the tourist area and emphasizes the fow of tourists who visit the area. Finally the study concludes with a visualization of the features of the touristic demand in Yachay. Keywords Yachay, Tourists, Supply, Demand.
