Jurnal FSD, Vol. 1 No. 1 PENERAPAN TEKNIK CONTINUITY PADA PENCIPTAAN FILM “VIOLA” (APPLICATION OF CONTINUITY ENGINEERING IN THE "VIOLA" FILM CREATION) Ryan Ramadhan, Sri Wahyuni Program Studi Televisi dan Film Fakultas Seni dan Desain, Universitas Potensi Utama Ryanramadhan1522@gmail.com, sriwahyuni2909@gmail.com ABSTRAK Penciptaan film “Viola” menerapkan teknik editing continuityserta beberapa aspek editing yang terkait dengan editing continuityyang bertujuan untuk mengetahui rancangan, konsep dan teknik continuity dalam memvisualkan cerita pada film “Viola”. Viola merupakan sebuah film drama yang di kemas dengan budaya mistis yang berkembang di indonesia kebudayaan ini sudah ada dari zaman kerajaan Hindu dan Buddha. Kebudayaan tersebut adalah ritual mandi kembang, ritual ini di fungsikan sebagai alat untuk mempercantik diri atau lebih di kenal dengan istilah “susuk”.Metode penciptaan yang digunakan dibagi menjadi tiga tahap yaitu pra produksi tahap ini merupakan rancangan kerja mulai dari penulisan naskah,peralatan,pemain dan lainnya. Produksi merupakan tahapan pengambilan gambar atau kegiatan shooting,dan pasca produksi adalah tahap akhir dari pembuatan film karena pada tahap ini proses pengambilan gambar sudah selesai dan tugas editor lah yang menggabungkan potongan video tersebut menjadi sebuah film yang utuh. Teori yang digunakan editor dalam penciptaan film viola adalah three match cut dariEdwin S. Porter. Teori Edwin S.Porteryangterdiri dari Matching The Look, Matching The Position, Matching The Movement. Konsep continuity yang digunakan adalah konsep kesinambungan gambar,sehingga membuat penonton menikmati dan mempermudah memahami jalan cerita pada film. Kata Kunci :Continuity, film fiksi, Viola. ABSTRACT The creation of the film "Viola" applies continuity editing techniques as well as several aspects of editing related to continuity editing that aim to find out the design, concept and continuity techniques in visualizing the story in the film "Viola". Viola is a drama film packed with mystical culture that developed in Indonesia. This culture has existed from the time of Hindu and Buddhist kingdoms. The culture is a flower bath ritual, this ritual is functioned as a tool to beautify themselves or more commonly known as "implant". The creation method used is divided into three stages, namely pre- production. This stage is a work design starting from script writing, equipment, players and others. Production is the stage of taking pictures or shooting activities and post-production is the final stage of film making because at this stage the process The picture is finished and the editor's job is to combine the video clips into a complete film. The theory used by the editor in the creation of Viola films is the three match cut from Edwin S. Porter. Edwin S. Porter's Theory which consists of Matching The Look, Matching The Position, Matching The Movement. The results of the creation show that the concept and continuity technique used is the concept of continuity of the image, so that makes the viewer enjoy and makes it easier to understand the storyline in the film.
