After looking for national and international research that addressed the construct school climate, we have developed a matrix with eight dimensions, considering the Brazilian reality. Therefore, two instruments were built, aimed at students and teachers in the upper grades of elementary school. Conducted content analysis by experts, an empirical analysis was made on a sample of 797 students and 243 teachers. The instruments showed good levels of reliability and confirmatory factor analysis indicated the appropriateness of items to different dimensions.
