2006 J.B. Johnston Meeting Abstracts
Abstracts for talks scheduled for the 2006 annual meeting of
the J.B. Johnston Club are listed in alphabetical order by present-
ing author. The final schedule of talks will be sent to the member-
ship prior to the meeting and will be available at the registration
desk during the meeting. This year’s Karger Invited Speaker will
be Jaap M. Koolhaas, who will also be giving a talk at the regular
JBJC meeting. His abstract is listed at the end.
The 2006 Meeting of the J.B. Johnston Club and the
Eighteenth Annual Karger Workshop
The 2006 meeting of the J.B. Johnston Club and Karger Work-
shop will be held immediately before the annual meeting of the
Society for Neuroscience on Thursday, October 12th (the Eigh-
teenth Annual Karger Workshop) and Friday, October 13th (reg-
ular JBJC), 2006. This year’s Karger Workshop, made possible by
the continuing support of Karger Publishers, was organized by
Øyvid Øverli and is entitled ‘Plasticity and Diversity in Behavior
and Brain Function: Important Raw Material for Natural Selec-
tion?’ The regular meeting of the J.B. Johnston Club will take
place the following day. The program for this twenty-sixth an-
nual JBJC meeting will consist of fourteen talks submitted by JBJC
members and selected by the JBJC Program Committee (Cathe-
rine McCormick, Eduardo Rosa-Molinar, and Cliff Summers)
plus a presentation by this year’s invited Karger Speaker, Dr. Jaap
M. Koolhaas. Both the Karger Workshop and the regular JBJC
meeting will take place at the Peachtree Westin Hotel, Atlanta,
Ga. Additional information and the final schedule of talks will be
mailed to JBJC members before the meeting, and will be posted
on the JBJC web site (www.creighton.edu/jbjc/).
