EFFECT OF ISLAMIC WORK ETHIC AND ON ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT
MOTIVATION AND JOB SATISFACTION AMONG EMPLOYEES OF HOUSING
BANK (MASKAN BANK ) OF KHUZESTAN PROVINCE.

ABSTRACT
Present study is done in order to investigate role and effect of Islamic work ethic on organizational
commitment, motivation and job satisfaction among employees of maskan banks of Khuzestan province.
Statistical society included all employees of maskan banks of Khuzestan province from which 220 people
were selected randomly as sample of study using murgan table, data collection tool was a structured
questionnaire which it’s questions were adopted from standard questionnaires of other researches. In order
to evaluate relationships between measured latent variables in conceptual pattern. Structural equations
finding pattern method was employed using AMOS 18 and SPSS 18 software’s findings of variable
analysis show that there’s a positive and meaningful effect among these variables, also moderator role of
employee’s motivation in relationship between Islamic work ethic and job satisfaction and organizational
commitment is confirmed in this study.

INTRODUCTION
One of the most important efficient manager’s concerns at different levels is how to provide appropriate beds
for all human agents working in all businesses in order to work in their society and job with feeling of
liability and complete commitment to issues and observe ethics governing on their job and profession – First
step to achieve this good, is understanding concept of ethic and detecting it’s effect on variables which effect
performance of ethic of work facilitates employees’ attitude toward job and organization in which they work.
It’s assumed that work ethic which is generally related to employees’ religious beliefs, has a relationship with
organizational commitment, jib satisfaction and inner motivation and promotes them. One of the efficient
attitudes of Islam in this regard is incorporating ethics with economic; since from one side, in order to
achieve everlasting and constant human welfare ( beatification ), Islamic society requires a dynamic and
developed economic, to provide women welfare, and from the other side it requires stabilization and
amplification of ethics in common culture to provide people’ beatification through in corrupting activities, it’s
worth noting that desirable economical growth and stabilization of religious values have mutual effects.
Work ethics is classified into two groups: protestant work ethic and Islamic work ethic. protestant work ethic
originates from weber’s ethic and weber’s capitalism soul. Weber believes that there’s a certain closeness
between protestant religious belief’s and ethic and growth of bourgeoisie economical – rational life ( weber,
1371: 1 ). He wants to specify that why contemporary bourgeoisie has emerged and developed in western
societies. ( weber, 1371: 1). He always emphasizes on rationalism in des, it means an economical system based
on ordered and arithmetical adaptation of economical tool to achieve economical interests. He believes that
such a system is never based on traditions. Islamic work ethic originates from Quran and prophetic tradition (
Darvish Yousef, 2001; Ali and Alkazemi, 2007) and innocent imams’ words in contrast to protestant work ethic
which originates from weber’s thoughts.
Although, all prophets’ serious and important responsibility was guiding human societies and in this way they
dedicated themselves to civilization using possible educative methods and enduring severe agonies, but they
occupied themselves in doing “ works and activities “ eit her to supply their livelihood and encourage people to
“ work and activity “ and not being other’s bothersome. Islamic work ethic implies Islam’s expectations from
individual’s behavior at work place and these expectations involve amount of individual’s effort at work
place, self – devotion. Cooperation, liability, accurate social interactions, and individual’s creativeness at office.
When person has a close relationship with God. Mainly his / her attitudes and behavior’s tend to agree with
religious laws. ( Rahman et al, 2006, 1 ). It’s believed that work ethic reflects individual’s attitude toward
