Na mes- ma época já eram bastante difundidos nos círculos acadêmicos as contribuições de teóricos da Literatura para os estudos de análise estrutural da narrativa. Nessa comunicação apresen- to um breve balanço das discussões sobre narrativa e representação histórica com ênfase em textos de autores infuentes nas últimas décadas como Hayden White e Paul Ricoeur. Neste percurso pretendo propor sugestões com relação à incorporação de insights da Teoria Literá- ria na composição de textos de História. Palavras-chaves: história; sedução; narrativa. aBstraCt The question of narrative in historical writing received impulse by the end of the 1970s with the publication of a well known article by Lawrence Stone, The revival of narrative. At that time the contributions of theorists of literature for the structural analysis of narratives were already recognized in academic circles. In this communication I present a brief account of the debates narrative and historical representation, emphasizing texts onf infuential authors in the last de- cades, such as Hayden White and Paul Ricoeur. In the process I intend to point implications regarding the incorporation of insights from literary theory in the composition of historical texts.
