Educ., vol. 3, no. 1, pp.38-47, 2022 Lisensi: JMathEdu is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License Copyright © 2022 Jambura Journal of Mathematics Education Artikel ini membahas tentang kesulitan belajar matematika siswa dengan tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesulitan belajar matematika siswa pada pokok bahasan bilangan berpangkat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif yang dilakukan di kelas IX semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 20 siswa kelas IX 1 SMP Negeri 1 Biluhu. Adapun subjek wawancara dipilih 3 orang yang mewakili kategori tinggi, kategori sedang, dan kategori rendah. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah tes kesulitan yang berbentuk uraian (essay) pada materi bilangan berpangkat. Untuk melihat kesulitan belajar digunakan 3 indikator yaitu : (1) Kesulitan Belajar Prinsip, (2) kesulitan Belajar Konsep, dan (3) kesulitan Belajar Operasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kesulitan belajar matematika siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 1 Biluhu berada pada kategori sedang. Kata Kunci: Kesulitan Belajar; Bilangan Berpangkat; Pembelajaran Matematika ABSTRACT This article discusses student’s mathematics learning difficulties with the aim of describing student’s mathematics learning difficulties on the subject of power numbers. The method used in this research is descriptive which is carried out in class IX odd semester for the academic year 2021/2022. The subjects of this study were 20 students of class IX 1 of SMP Negeri 1 Biluhu. There were also three interview subjects who represented the high category, medium category, and low category. The instrument of this research is a difficulty test in the form of an essay on the material of rank numbers. To see learning difficulties, 3 indicators are used, namely: (1) difficulties in learning principles, (2) difficulties in learning concepts, and (3) difficulties in learning operations. The results of this study indicate that the learning difficulties of class IX students of SMP country 1 Biluhu are in the moderate category.
