Abstract
This study attempts to examine and discover the various Filipino superstitions that are
considered as a ritual or have been followed in taking the Licensure Examination for Teachers.
The study used phenomenological research design to describe and evaluate the experiences of
the teachers who took the test. The participants of the study were ten teachers who believed in
superstitions in taking the test, and were selected using purposive sampling. This study found
that following superstitions is effective and it is one of the factors that is associated in passing
the test. The results of this study indicated that superstition is of great value to those planning
to take the exam because it is not only a guide to pass the exams but is also a form of
appreciation of Filipino culture. Thus, this study recommends the practice of following
superstitions in taking board exams but everyone should not expect and rely on following the
superstitions alone for the purpose of passing the test. Preparing and having enough readiness
as well as doing thorough review of lessons is also recommended.
