Were selected from consisting of two classes; viia class as a class the experiment was a total of 32 students and class viib as a class control which consisted of 32 student. Samples taken by using clusters of random sampling. Based on the results of the data analysis using formulas t-tes obtained t-hit = 2,85, from table distribution t the first significant 5 % known t daf = 1,67 test criteria t hit > t daf ; t-daf hypothesis Ho rejected, means Ha accepted, so it can be concluded there an effect the application of a method of the rest of the team in the ability of the quiz the solution of the problems mathematics to their students class vii the even junior high school nusantara bandar lampung in 2016/2017. Keyword: Team quiz, Problem solving PENDAHULUAN Pendidikan memiliki peran yang begitu penting untuk meningkatkan kualitas serta kuantitas sumber daya manusia. Dalam dunia pendidikan jika pembaharuan dilakukan secara terencana, terarah dan berkesinambungan maka akan tercipta manusia-manusia unggul yang siap bersaing ditengah ketatnya persaingan global. Penyelenggaraan pendidikan di sekolah yang melibatkan guru sebagai pendidik dan siswa sebagai peserta didik. Hal ini diwujudkan dengan adanya interaksi belajar mengajar atau proses pembelajaran yang berkesinambungan. Pada proses pembelajaran, guru harus mampu mengkondisikan situasi kelas agar peserta didik dapat memahami materi dengan baik. Hal ini sejalan dengan pembelajaran matematika di sekolah yang bertujuan untuk membentuk karakter peserta didik yang mampu berpikir kritis, logis, sistematis dan memiliki sifat objektif, jujur, disiplin dalam memecahkan suatu permasalahan baik dalam bidang matematika maupun pada bidang lainnya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Namun kenyataannya kemampunan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa masih rendah. Hal tersebut juga terjadi di SMP Nusantara Bandar Lampung.
