Analysis of Pollution Level Based on Index of Population Diversity Sea Cucumbers (Holothuriidae) in Mutiara Bay, Alor, East Nusa Tenggara 131 131 ANALYSIS OF POLLUTION LEVEL BASED ON INDEX OF POPULATION DIVERSITY SEA CUCUMBERS (HOLOTHURIIDAE) IN MUTIARA BAY, ALOR, EAST NUSA TENGGARA Paulus Edison Plaimo 1 , Efrin Antonia Dollu 2 Fakultas Pertanian dan Perikanan, Program Studi Perikanan, Universitas Tribuana Kalabahi Email: edisonplaimo@untribkalabahi.ac.id ABSTRACT Topography of Mutiara bay waters is ideal for habitat for various organisms such as sea cucumber (holothuriidae) but on the other side development of activity due to the city center located in Mutiara bay then the implication of urbanization or the addition of population generates waste that is not neglected and even thrown to shore so that the current drifts and settles in the sediment. this condition increases the level of pollution. the purpose of this study was to determine the level of pollution in pearl bay waters based on the diversity index of sea cucumber population (holothuriidae). samples were taken from four observation stations using in situ observation techniques. based on the results of the research, there are six species of holothuriidae: holothuriidae nobilis, holothuriidae scabra, holothuriidae edulis, holothuriidae leucospoilota, holothuriidae impatiens, holothuriidae artrain. based on the Shannon-Wienner diversity Index the Shannon-Wienner diversity Index was obtained at all observation stations, namely the 1st coastal station of afengmale 0,254; station 2 beach bungawaru - 6,248; station 3 beach watatuku - 3,728 and beach 4 station fanating 0,186, if adjusted with value criterion below 1 hence water status of four observation station based on population and diversity sea cucumber (holothuriidae) is polluted heavy. based on Simpson diversity index obtained Simpson diversity index value in all observation station that is station 1 coast of afengmale 0,9; station 2 beach bungawaru 0.5; station 3 beach watatuku 0,7 and station 4 beach fanating 0,8, if adjusted with Simpson diversity index criteria hence water status based on population and diversity sea cucumber (holothuriidae) station 1, 3 and 4 is medium paste and station 2 is polluted heavy Keywords: mutiara bay, contamination, sea cucumber, shannon-wienner, simpson INTRODUCTION Marine pollution can have enormous impacts, for example poisoning seawater, poisoning animals that live around contaminated waters and engaging in food chains and at the top of the trophic can poison humans. In addition, the cause of ecosystem imbalance in these waters. The pollution indicator according to the Ministry of Environment (2004) is divided into four categories, among others: 1) to the life of aquatic biota; 2) on groundwater quality; 3) to health; 4) against environmental aesthetics. Tracing the presence of a contaminant in a vehicle by means of an organism is essential.
