595 New Design Concepts and Strategies - Volume 2 - eCAADe 30 | INTRODUCTION Interpretation process is usually oriented to some purposes, e.g., for identifcation, for explanation, for inference, for translation, etc. By the interpretation in this paper is understood not only the explanation of a confguration of signs (symbols) in general (how it functions or how it works within a higher whole). This general interpretation is oriented in our paper to conceptual design and it is modifed to the goal of the solved problem. The presented method of interpretation is des- tined especially for the following classes of engi- neering: Interpretation of semantic content of the dis- covered relations, Conceptual design and redesign – (Kitamura et al., 2002; Bila and Tlapak, 2006). Interpretation process is usually oriented to some purposes, e.g., for identifcation, for explanation, for inference, for translation, etc. By the interpretation in this paper is understood not only the explanation of a confguration of signs (symbols) in general (how it functions or how it works within a higher whole). This general interpretation is oriented in our paper to conceptual design and it is modifed to the goal of the solved problem. The concept of emergent situation was defned in general and in special case of interpretation process in conceptual design. A limited model of the description of interpretation process was introduced as a semiotic phenomenon on connections of Interpretation Space and Sign Model. Two relevant cases of interpretation process were introduced. The condition of induction of emergence in interpretation process was formulated. Keywords. Modelling; interpretation; interpretation space; sign model; emergent phenomena. We quote here a few approaches and principles used for the formation of an interpretation system: Linguistic approximation. ETS system (Expertise Transfer for Expert Sys- tem Design), (Boose 1986). System of rules (Bila et al., 2011). The approach presented in this paper. However none of them provides interpretation of emergent situations except the last one. The efort to design an interpretation system for special cases has appeared in recent works, e.g., (Agerri 2007; Ujiie and Matsuoka, 2009).
