In terms of nutritive value, chicken poultry ranked second among the other livestock. Chickens that are raised for their meat are called broilers. One of the important things in broiler breeding for them to survive is the exact range of temperature and humidity of farm. Providing the right and stable temperature of farm could produce the high and best quality of broilers and maintain their growth. Environment temperature has a big impact on broiler’s growth. Climate change has negative effects on poultry production. Too hot and too cold temperature can affect their eating routine which will result to losing appetite. INTRODUCTION Poultry is the fastest growing livestock sector, especially in the Philippines, as one of the developing countries today. It has been a significant contributor to the Philippines’ agriculture sector. The chicken population in the Philippines in 2010 was estimated to more than 150 million (PSA, 2015). Chickens that are raised for production are called broilers. Broilers are typically white and bred specifically for optimal health and size to produce a quality product for the consumer. They are raised in large, open structure called houses which are big enough for them to roam, explore, eat and commune with other chickens. The health of the chicken highly depends on their environment. If the chickens are not comfortable in their environment, there may be problem with their growth and may lead to health issues. Poultry farms are designed in such way that, environmental conditions can be altered or adjusted to provide chickens better environment by using ventilations, cooling, and heating. In this study, automation will help the farmers in providing good environment for the chickens. Automation use computer-controlled devices that are based on the monitoring and data collection from surface temperature and chicken’s body temperature. II. OBJECTIVES A. To monitor and determine the temperature of the broilers within a specific area of the thermal camera in a pen. B. To collect data which will be used to analyze which part of the broilers’ house is exposed to too much heat or cold. C. To automate heating system which will release hot air depending on the broilers’ temperature if they are feeling too much cold based on the data collected and analyzed. III. RELATED LITERATURE A.
