402 O consumo como princípio de realidade 1 : a hegemonia do animal laborans na sociedade atual a partir de uma perspectiva arendtiana Ricardo Gião Bortolotti * RESUMO O presente artigo tem por objetivo apresentar as reflexões de Hannah Arendt no que concerne à modernidade e ao advento da sociedade, com o crescente domínio do animal laborans. Para isso, buscamos explorar os conceitos chaves da autora nas transformações ocorridas na condição humana, no modo em que os homens se ajustam às exigências de seu meio. Arendt, como teórica da política, observa essas mudanças a partir da polis grega, espaço ideal em que o discurso ocupava lugar central na atividade do cidadão, mas que também deu lugar à filosofia e à concepção de verdade alienada da arena política. A consequência dessa alienação é o isolamento do ser humano, tornando-o distanciado do domínio público e, portanto, de seu estado de liberdade. Assim, incapaz de comunicar-se, submete-se à orientação de ideologias totalitárias e à perda do sentido de sua existência. Palavras-chave: Ação. Hannah Arendt. Sociedade de massas. Consumption as a reality principle: the hegemony of animal laborans in today's society from an Arendtian perspective ABSTRACT This paper aims to present the thoughts of Hannah Arendt regarded to the modernity and to the advent of society, with the growing domain of animal laborans. For this, we seek to explore the key concepts of the author in the transformations that have occurred in the human condition, in the mode in which the men fit the demands of the environment. Arendt, as political theorist, notes these changes from the Greek polis, ideal space in which the speech was the most important activity of the citizen, but it also gave way to the philosophy, and the conception of alienated truth of the political arena. The consequence of this alienation is the isolation of human being, and that keeps away of the participation of the public domain and, therefore, the state of freedom. So, unable to communicate, submits to the guidance of totalitarian ideologies and the loss of the sense of your existence. Keywords: Action. Hannah Arendt.
