The Paper Used The Qualitative Research Design To Collect Data. It Was Found Out From Independence In 1960 Till Now, Nigeria Has Been Struggling To Be A Democratic Nation Having Been Ruled By Military Juntas Who Ascended To Positions Of Leadership Through Military Coup’ D’etat. Also, Data Collected Revealed That Elections In Nigeria Have Not Been Free And Fair Due To Vote Buying, Rigging, Killings, Abductions And Violence. These Ugly Scenarios’ Have Culminated Into Loss Of Faith In The Conduct Of Elections, Low Turnout During Elections And Ethnic Rivalry Among Nationalities. The Paper Recommends That Electoral Laws Should Be Amended To Reflect Democratic Principles, Subjecting Electoral Offenders To The Wrath Of The Law, That Viable Peace Education Should Be Adopted In All Educational Institutions In
