This research is a qualitative research using descriptive method. Sources of data in this study are the novel Bulan Terbelah Di Langit Amerika by Hanum Salsabiela Rais and Rangga Almahendra, and journals. The data analysis techniques in this study were as follows: (1) Reading and understanding the novel, the American Dilangit Split Moon by Hanum Salsabiela Rais and Rangga Almahendra. (2) Analyze the inner conflicts experienced by Hanum and Rangga characters (3) Describe the inner conflicts experienced by Hanum and Rangga characters in Hanum's novel Bulan Terbelah Dilangit Amerika by Hanum. The results of this study indicate that the inner conflicts experienced by Hanum and Rangga in Salsabiela Rais and Rangga Almahendra's novel Bulan Terbelah Dilangit Amerika by Salsabiela Rais and Rangga Almahendra can use Sigmund. Keywords: Inner Conflict, the novel moon split the American sky 1. INTRODUCTION Literature is art creation. As an art copyright, literature has a high beauty value in Esten (Suhardi, 2011: 3). Literature can function as a work of art that can be used as a means of entertaining readers (Nurgiyantoro, 2007: 3) which states that reading a fictional literary work means enjoying stories and entertaining oneself to gain inner satisfaction. Novels as a form of literature can freely talk about the life experienced by humans with various rules and norms in their interactions with the environment so that in novel works there are certain meanings about life. Novel is an organism structure that is complex, unique, and expresses everything (more in character) indirectly (Jobrohim 2012; 12). According to Sudjiman (2010: 53), a novel is a long fictional prose by presenting characters and presenting a series of events and settings in an arranged manner. In a novel, it generally starts with an important event experienced by the character of the story who will change the fate of his life. Novel writers are called novelists. The novel is one of the reading materials which is divided into two, namely fiction novels and non-fiction novels. In addition, there are many types of novels based on genres such as comedy novels, romantic novels, horror novels, mystery novels, inspirational novels and religious novels. A novel usually tells about human life with various problems in their interactions with the environment and others. An author tries his best to direct the reader to images of the realities of life through the stories in the novel. Like the story in the novel Bulan Terbelah Dilangit Amerika by Hanum Salsabiela Rais and Rangga Almahendra. Everyone has a different phenomenon of conflict. Humans who experience unsolved problems will cause conflict. One of the problems experienced by humans is conflict in their lives. Conflict arises from the fact that there are differences both inwardly, emotionally, culturally, needs, interests, and patterns of behavior between individuals or groups that occur in a society. As social beings who live side by side, conflicts often arise which are triggered by various motives. Ratna (2011: 324) states that humans will slowly lose self-control when the level of civilization reaches progress, which triggers a conflict. Psychology of literature and literary works are interrelated because if you want to see and know humans you need psychology. If humans often experience conflicts that start from certain psychological attitudes and also lead to psychological problems. According to Noor (2005: 94) for the character's psychology, it can be in the form of inner conflicts, multiple personalities, behavioral deviations, character changes and emotional turmoil. Psychology according to Walgito (2010: 7) consists of two words, namely psyche and logos. Psyche is Greek which means soul and the word logos which means science, so psychology is a term from psychology. However, the meaning between psychology and psychology has a difference, in essence, something called psychology cannot necessarily be called psychology, but psychology can be defined as the science of the soul. In other words, psychology is a science that has a broad impression. One of the novels that has inner conflicts is the novel Bulan Terbelah DiLangit Amerika by Hanum Salsabiela Rais and Rangga Almahendra. The novel Bulan Split Dilangit America by Hanum Salsabiela Rais and Rangga Almahendra was chosen in this study because it is very interesting to study.
