India as a third world country, agriculture remains the largest sector that contributes to the GDP of the country. Most of the freshwater goes for the irrigation sector. Even with all the development in technologies we have seen that comparatively the agricultural industry still is unable to make the most out of it and the outreach is still poor. Still today a large sector is being operated manually and the traditional techniques like drip irrigation, sprinkler irrigation is still widely used. With the help of large-scale automation along with IoT implementation it is possible to make a paradigm shift in the Agriculture Industry of the country to yield the best result. This paper focuses primarily on the making of a smart irrigation system that focuses on the optimal usage of water and the study of Soil samples along side with the Implementation of IoT. Thus, this paper discusses not only to contribute for minimizing human efforts but also in studying and understanding the different types of soils required and their moisture holding properties for agricultural fields in the system. The IoT is a technology undergoing huge research and development at a very large number of sectors. The IoT technology enables any mobile devices or computers to communicate to each other. Its like the Internet of all electronic smart objects connected to each other. They can not only just communicate with each other via different paths and remotely but also the exchange and transfer of information occurs in a very efficient and large scale
