1 KAJIAN KOMPETITIF INDUSTRI BATIK INDONESIA MENGHADAPI ASEAN ECONOMIC COMMUNITY (AEC) PASCA PENGUKUHANNYA SEBAGAI BUDAYA TAKBENDA OLEH UNESCO Siti Nurhayati (Dosen Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Pekalongan) email : nurhayati_ms99@yahoo.co.id Abstract This research is motivated by the empirical facts that after the inaugural Indonesian batik as intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO in 2009, the circulation batik textile printing, both domestically and abroad increase faster. On the other side, Indonesia become integrated with other Asean states to the Asean Economic Community (AEC) in 2015. There is the situation that all Indonesian products must ready to compete with other products from all Asean members, so do the batik product. Location of the research conducted in the centers of Indonesian batik which includes of Pekalongan, Yogyakarta and Surakarta (Solo). Samples were determined by snowball sampling technique, then was acquired 8 companies of batik. The results showed that batik have saome advantages such : a. Indonesian batik not only an economies product, but has large filoshophy as the cultural, art, and humanistic b. Batik with natural dye batik has several advantages compared with chemical dyes, such as safe for the skin, more durable, and more and more bright colors. In addition, the natural color of batik products is environmentally friendly and a solution for batik artisans who cannot afford to buy chemical dyes. c. Indonesian batik reach the variety design that made by producers, and the design may develop for each batik centra. Pendahuluan Industri batik Indonesia menghadapai tantangan berat pada tahun 2015 seiring dengan diberlakukannya masyarakat ekonomi asia (Asean Economic Community / AEC), sehingga perlu dilakukan kajian lebih jauh tentang kesiapan industry batik Indonesia menghadapi AEC. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fakta empirik merebaknya peredaran tekstil printing motif batik, baik didalam negeri maupun diluar negeri pascapengukuhan batik Indonesia sebagai budaya takbenda dunia oleh UNESCO pada tahun 2009.
