The nursing knowledge, clinical practices, and theories are considered cornerstones of the discipline and the rela- tionship among these is cyclical and reciprocal. 1 The nurs- ing knowledge guides our actions and clinical practicesand also generates information that becomes thebasis for further research. In addition to that, the theory provides the founda- tional concepts that enable the nurses to direct their actions while providing patient care. 2 The nursing theory or model-based clinical approaches as- sist the nurses to take better, proficient, and quality clinical decisions through utilizing the theory concepts that in a turn become a base for evidence-based nursing. 3 Likewise, evi- dence-based nursing care makes us think over epistemologi- cal and methodological referenceson which the clinical prac- tices are based.
