Biomass from plant material is the most abundant and widely spread renewable raw
material for the sustainable production of clean and affordable biofuels, biopower, and high
value bioproducts. Lignocellulosic materials (LCM) from forest, agriculture, setaside lands,
industry or urban solid wastes, mainly made up lignin, cellulose and hemicelluloses, are
potential feedstocks for chemical utilization.
