Jurnal Pendidikan, Vol.8, No. 1, Januari 2020 ISSN: 2337-7607 e-ISSN: 2337-7593 1 Penerapan Metode Pembelajaran Kontekstual Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Menulis Puisi Bebas Siswa Kelas VIII SMP Laboratorium STKIP Muhammadiyah Sorong Pulau Arar Abdul Hafid 1 Ismail Marzuki 2 Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia Universitas Pendidikan Muhammadiyah (UNIMUDA) Sorong Melawele, Aimas, Sorong, Indonesia hafidabdul838@gmail.com Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan kemampuan menulis puisi bebas dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran kontekstual siswa kelas VIII SMP Laboratorium STKIP Muhammadiyah Sorong Pulau Arar. Rancangan penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan dua siklus pembelajaran. Populasi yang digunakan adalah kelas VIII sebanyak 24 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi dan tes. Teknik analisis data yang peneliti gunakan adalah menggunakan teknis analisis data menutur Aqib. Pada tahap prasiklus siswa yang tuntas sebanyak 33,33%, sedangkan siswa yang belum tuntas sebanyak 75%. Siklus I menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang tuntas adalah sebanyak 58.33 %, sedangkan siswa yang belum tuntas sebanyak 41.66%. Dengan demikian, hasil pembelajaran menulis puisi bebas pada siklus I belum memenuhi batas 75% siswa tuntas. Siklus II menunjukkan siswa yang tuntas adalah sebanyak 83.33 %, sedangkan siswa yang belum tuntas sebanyak 16.66%. Hasil pembelajaran menulis puisi bebas pada siklus II memenuhi batas ketuntasan klasikal yakni 75% dari keseluruhan siswa dan siswa dinyatakan tuntas. Kata Kunci: Menulis, Puisi Bebas, Kontekstual Abstract: The aim of this study is to improve the students‟ ability on writing free poetry using contextual method at 8 th grade students of SMP Laboratory STKIP Muhammadiyah Sorong in Arar Island. The research design used classroom action research (CAR) in 2 cycles. The population of this study is 24 of 8 th grade students. The data collection technique used observation and test. The analysis data used analysis data according to Aqib. According to the data analysis data, it showed that in the pre-cycle the students who completed the test is about 33,33 % and the students who did not complete the test is 75%. In the first cycle, it showed that the students who completed the test is 58.33% while the students who did not complete the test is 41.66%. Based on the result it concluded that the result of learning is still did not reach the limit of passing grade because 75% students who completed the test. Then in the second cycle showed the students who completed the test is 83.33% and the students who did not complete the test is 16.66%. The result of writing free poetry learning of the second cycle reached the limit of classical passing grade that is 75% from total students and the students who passed the passing grade.
