Many organizations store their data in one server or many. Since the information of an organization is important there should be some way to provide security to it. In addition to this storage issue must be addressed since the information is in large amount. To deal with these issues a Secure Distributed Data Storage System is proposed. It frst compress the fle then perform encryption on compressed fle to provide security and then this encrypted fle is split into number of parts. After splitting the fle is stored on different database servers. When the same fle is to be retrieved, certain operations are performed in reversed manner such as frst the different parts of the fle are accessed from the different servers then the parts of the fle are merged, decrypted and then fnally unzipped. This data is accessible to every client of an organization depending on the constraints applied to the data [1]. In a client server network, there is a central computer known as a server which provides data and other form of resources. A client requests the server to use data or share its resources. All the fles of an organization are stored at the same server or many. Also in case of some breakdown data is lost, it can be recovered easily from other servers since data is available on more than one server. As the number of copies of fles is available on various servers, storage space is wasted for redundant data. Since all the fles are stored at the same server, there is a security issue regarding these fles. To deal with these issues a Secure Distributed Data Storage System is proposed. It frst compress the textual fle then perform encryption on compressed fle to provide security and then this encrypted fle is split into number of parts. After splitting the fle is stored on different servers. This technique will reduce the amount of storage required to store the data. When the same textual fle is to be retrieved, certain operations are performed in reversed manner such as, frst the different parts of the fle are accessed from the different servers then the parts of the fle are merged, decrypted and then fnally unzipped. To demonstrate this work client server system can be used. One computer can act as a client & four computers can acts as a server. A client sends zipped, encrypted and split parts of a textual fle to four servers. To retrieve a textual fle frst all parts are merged, decrypted and then unzipped. 2.0 LITERATURE REVIEW With the explosive growth of digital data, backup and storage has become more important for any organization. This leads to the duplication of data. To deal with these issues a de-duplication is used. Though de-duplication technique can save the storage space it reduces the reliability of the system. Data reliability [1] is actually very critical issue in a redundant storage system because there is only one copy for each fle stored in the server shared by all the owners. If such a shared fle is lost, a large amount of data becomes * Corresponding Author www.ijrests.org CS 07 Vol.: 03 No.: 02 June 2017 Computer Science & Engg.
