In the context of the failure of traditional internationalization theories to explain the fast development and international success of these companies, several theoretical recent developments should be used to explain this phenomenon. A conceptual framework comprising the pre-requisites of these companies is proposed in the paper, on the base of an extensive review of earlier research on several strategic management theories with roots on Resource-Based View and on international entrepreneurship theory. The conclusion is the rapid and successful internationalization of born globals can be theoretically enlightened by viewing it through the combined lenses of several approaches and offer a solid base to be tested in future studies. 1 Corresponding author
