ABSTRACT The unprecedented stroke to the world economy due to COVID-19 has shattered the job market throughout the world and India is no exception of it. The aftermath of this pandemic is huge job cut. Job loss is the instant impact of Lockdown. In this crisis situation it becomes important for job seekers to utilize their personal and professional relations and contacts to get job. Social networking sites play important role in staying connected with each other. The pandemic has brought the massive reform in the nature of work. 'Work From Home' and 'Work From Anywhere' are the time forced practices for IT industry. The study is aimed at to see if social networking sites are used by working professionals to change their jobs. For this a structured questionnaire was designed and filled by 100 respondents. The findings of the study shows that majority of the working professionals use social networking sites for changing their jobs. Social networking sites are considered useful by working professionals. The days are changing fast when social networking sites were only used for entertainment and spending time. The functions of social networking sites are changed due to the demand of time and test of users. These platform help user to stay connect to the world and also brought attention towards what happening around them. Social networking sites are widely used by people today. Companies share their product information on their corporate website or they open professional social media account for this. They also create employer brand through using social networking sites. Working professionals are the people who are currently working in somewhere but for the career betterment they are in seek of new job. They make use of social networking sites to search the job. Social networking sites facilitate its user to create online profile though it working professionals can impress their future employer. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn these are the examples of social networking that provide facility to open online account over there. Out of these LinkedIn is a professional job oriented social networking sites used for job searching purpose. REVIEW OF LITERATURE B. Subramaniam and B.
