Presque chaque langue a des mots dont l'origine remonte à une autre langue. Le but de cette communication est d’examiner les indices sociolinguistiques qui sont mise à jour depuis l’introduction d’emprunts de source française en baat ɔnum. Les données ont été recueillies à partir de diverses sources, y compris écrite et orale. La méthode descriptive a été utilisée pour analyser l’échantillon selon des critères sociolinguistiques. Entre d’autres, l’étude révèle que nous avons plus d’emprunt dans le domaine de la science et technique (35.96%) et le moins dans le domaine de la construction (2.31%) ; la plupart de ces emprunts sont nouveaux au monde baatɔnum. Il faut donc les emprunter en leur donnant un accent baatɔnum. L’étude conclut que les emprunts de source françai se représentent un enrichissement de la langue baatɔnum et une manifestation des contacts qu’entretiennent entre le baatɔnum et le français. Mots-clés : emprunt, baatɔnum, analyse sociolinguistique, enrichissement lexical Abstract Borrowing can be seen as a natural step in the evolution of a language, a step that enriches the target language with the new vocabulary. Almost every language has words that can be traced back to another language. The aim of this article is to examine the sociolinguistic indices which have been updated since the introduction of borrowings from French sources in Baatɔnum. Data was collected from a variety of sources, including written and oral. The descriptive method was used to analyze the sample according to sociolinguistic criteria. Among others, the study reveals that we have more loanwords in the field of science and technology (35.96%) and the least in the field of construction (2.31%); most of these loans are new to the baatɔnum community. Vocabularies must therefore borrowed by giving them a Baatɔnum accent. The study concludes that borrowings from French sources represent an enrichment of the Baatɔnum language and a manifestation of the contacts between Baatonum and French.
