Especially in the 13th century Seljuk art, the geometric motifs seen in wood, stone and tile decorations increased the value of our cultural heritage with their intensive use in compositions. Although geometric motifs were used as decoration elements in pre-Islamic periods, interior and exterior decoration of architectural structures reached a high level, especially in the Seljuk period. Star motifs are one of the main elements of the geometric arrangements that constitute the characteristic feature of the period. Although Yıldızlar has different numbers of corners, it has been used extensively in the s tone and tile decoration of the architectural structures belonging to the Seljuks. Reflecting the term "unity in the multitude" with their continuous intertwining, the stars bear the most important basic motif feature that represents the architectural structure to the outside with its extensive use in crown doors. Besides having symbolic meanings related to the eternity of the universe, the star motif, also known as the symbolic meaning of Turkishness, has formed an important design heritage for today's ceramic tile industry with its rich pattern examples. In this article, Seljuk star motifs with different corner numbers are examined, their usage in today's industrial ceramic tile designs is investigated, the effect of the 13th century Seljuk traces on today's ceramic tile decor designs is explained, in order to keep the Seljuk star motif alive in today's contemporary ceramic tile designs, it is suitable for today's digital printing technology. sample tile design applications are presented. Structured Abstract: Anatolian lands, which have hosted many civilizations in the historical duration, have a very rich history in terms of culture and arts. Seljuk State, one of the civilizations that lived in Anatolia and made a name for themselves with the works they produced, had the most productive period in terms of culture and art between the 11th and 13th centuries. During this period, the most beautiful examples were seen in terms of technique and pattern variation, especially in the decoration of architectural structures. Traditional reflections, in which the cultural and social structure of that period are depicted, evoke admiration on forms and surfaces. Traditional reflections on different techniques and surfaces from the past to the present are mostly seen in geometric motifs in the geometric patterns of wood, stone and tile surfaces during the Seljuk period. While these motifs constitute important elements of our tradition, history and culture, they are documents that increase the value of our cultural heritage (Sevim, 2016: 7). * Dr, Anadolu Üniversitesi, Güzel Sanatlar Enstitüaü, Seramik Sanatta Yeterlik Programı (mezun) Dr. Anadolu University, Institute of Fine Arts, Ceramic Program (graduated) 0000-0001-8222-0709 fscreative@hotmail.com ** Prof. Dr., Anadolu Üniversitesi, Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi, Seramik Bölümü Prof. Dr. Anadolu University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Ceramics 0000-0001-7378-027X sssevim@anadolu.edu.tr
