Deshpande JJT University, Rajasthan, India ABSTRACT - The importance of cryptography applied to security in electronic data transactions has gained essential relevance during the last few years. Everyday many users generate and interchange a large amount of information in various fields through Internet, Telephone conversations, and e-commerce transactions. These and the other examples of application deserve a security point of view, not only a transport of such information but also in storage. This can be achieved by various techniques such as password, cryptography and biometrics. In this sense, cryptography techniques are especially useful. In cryptography, the AES also known as Rijndael, is a block cipher adopted as an encryption standard by the US government specifies an encryption algorithm capable of protecting sensitive data. The AES algorithm is symmetric block cipher that can encrypt and decrypt information. The AES algorithm uses cryptographic key of 128, 192 and 256 bits to encrypt and decrypt data in blocks of 128 bits. However, hardware implementations are of extreme importance in cases of high performance, security against system intruders and busy system, where a cryptography task is too much time consuming. Field programmable logic devices, FPGAs, are an excellent choice to execute cryptographic operations considering speed and flexibility in architecture changes. The possibility of continuous change is very useful in cryptography: an algorithm might need to be changed because it became obsolete or it was broken. INTRODUCTION Due to the vast development of information technology, it is very necessary to protect the sensitive information via encryption and decryption which is becoming more and more important in daily life. Cryptographic operation in devices[11,13] which use little memory and a low power processor causes system overhead[15,20]. Thereby implementing security hardware dedicated to cryptographic operation is necessary [9,17]. While transmitting or sending data which could be confidential could be accessed by unauthorized person to avoid the confidential data fall into the wrong hands vital steps should be taken and is none other than securing the data[6,10]. Securing confidential data is vital, ethical and legal requirement. In today's cutting edge world, large portions of the general population are utilizing new correspondence advancements to get associated. They utilize these medium to collaborate and share information and data. The ceaseless increment of data transmitted electronically has prompted an expanded reliance on cryptography[5,7]. Securing information on the system has turned out to be critical in this E- Commerce world. PC security is picking up significance and different strategies have been devised to ensure secret and vital data in the Exchanges. Cryptography plays a critical role in the safety of information[2,19]. It empowers us to store sensitive and confident data or transmit it over electronic systems so that unauthorized
