Abstract: Green supply chain management is an emerging area which has been
growing well in the recent past. Sustainable policies have been adopted in the
recent past by many organisations as there is growing awareness about
sustainable development, despite the presence of a scope for considerable
improvement if adoption of sustainable and green policies is considered. This
study specifically deals with the automotive sector. It studies the impact of
green supply chain management attributes on supply chain performance and
hence on the reduction of pollutants in the automotive industry in India. It
serves as a full-scale version of the pilot study done by the authors of this
paper. Open-source statistical tool R has been used for this purpose. Using
partial least squares structural equations modelling (PLS SEM) path estimates
were calculated. Here, green operations seem to have the most pronounced
effect on supply chain performance.
Keywords: green supply chain management; sustainable policies; supply chain
performance; automotive industry; ecological footprint.
