Dosen FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah 2 ABSTRACT In economic activities that are particularly oriented towards Islamic economics, it is increasingly widespread in various countries, especially Indonesia. Talking about Islamic Economics, it is closely related to Muslim figures and their thoughts that have always contributed to the laying of the foundations and principles of Islamic Economics. The thoughts of scholars on Islamic Economics in classical times were very advanced and brilliant, far ahead of thinkers of western figures such as Ricardo, Adam Smith, Malthus and Keynes. Imam Al-Syatibi is one of the many figures in Islamic Economics, who has a very vital role in the development of Islamic Economics to date. A common problem has become an imbalance of society in the world, therefore government intervention is needed through fiscal policy. In this case we need to examine the thoughts and views of Imam al-Syatibi about maqashid sharia and its contribution to fiscal policy. The results of this study are maqashid sharia which is divided into three levels, namely; dharuriyat, hajiyat, and tahsiniyat. Maqashid Syariah has a big share in three aspects of fiscal policy, namely state spending, tax collection and household expenses.
