Facultad de Ingeniería Eléctrica y Computación (FIEC) Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral Guayaquil, Ecuador jjaramil@fiec.espol.edu.ec , wvelazquez@fiec.espol.edu .ec, gallo@fiec.espol.edu.ec Resumen Actualmente existe en el Ecuador un déficit de generación eléctrica con respecto a la demanda existente en el país, por tal motivo se ha recurrido a generaciones costosas y no seguras para el medio ambiente ,por tal motivo el presente trabajo consiste en el estudio de un nuevo proyecto hidroeléctrico de mediana capacidad, para así ayudar un poco a satisfacer la demanda de electricidad existente en la actualidad en nuestro país, y satisfacerla de una manera limpia utilizando nuestros recursos naturales renovables. Para tal objetivo se realiza el estudio del aprovechamiento de las Aguas del Río Chanchan ubicado en la Provincia de Chimborazo, del cual se realiza un análisis hidrológico podemos determinar caudales y potencias disponibles, y con un detallado análisis del presupuesto, el requerido para obras civiles eléctricas y mecánicas y de los ingresos económicos esperados de la realización del proyecto, se establece la factibilidad o no de realizar el mismo, para arrancar con la elaboración de dicha central que por su capacidad se clasificara como una mediana central. Abstract Actuality exists in the Ecuador a deficit of electrical generation with regard to the existing demand in the country, for this motive one has resorted to costly and not sure generations for the environment, for this motive the present work consists in the study of a new hydroelectric project of medium capacity, for this way to help to satisfy a bit the demand of existing electricity at present in our country, and to satisfy her of a clean way using our natural renewable resources. For such motivo is realized the study of the utilization of the Waters of the “Rio Chanchan” located in Chimborazo's province, of which an hidrológic analysis is realized we prune to determine wealths and available powers, and with a detailed analysis of the budget, the hended one for civil electrical and mechanical Works and of the economic income expected from the accomplishment of the project, the feasibility is established or not of fulfilling the same one, to Stara with the production of central that for its capacity was qualifying as a central median.
