Hablemos de desventajas Nadia Navarro Ceja, Laura Evelia Torres Velázquez, Patricia Anabel Plancarte Cansino y Margarita Nabor Govea Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México México RESUMEN Hablar de género es analizar las condiciones de vida de mujeres y hombres; sin embargo, poco se sabe de las necesidades que surgen en los hombres si nos detenemos a refexionar acerca de las posibles desventajas con que ellos tienen que aprender a vivir. Se utilizó el construccionismo social como enfoque teórico de esta investigación, incorporando la perspectiva de género. El objetivo es analizar el proceso de socialización y aprendizaje del ser hombre dentro de la familia, identifcando algunas desventajas que viven los hombres en su proceso de construcción identitaria. La metodología es cualitativa; se entrevistó a tres hombres y se utili- zó el análisis de contenido para analizar la información obtenida. Los resultados mostraron cómo la educación en torno al género es importante en la construcción de hombres, ya que los participantes fueron aprendiendo estos roles y estereotipos asignados socialmente, lo cual los conduce a ocultar sus verdaderas emociones por el temor a ser señalados o juzgados. Se sugiere abrir más espacios de refexión donde sea posible reconocer las necesidades y desventajas que ellos viven en su condición de hombres “in- vencibles”, donde puedan hablar de sí mismos, propiciando el autocuidado de su salud y su cuerpo, analizando esas formas de vida basadas en estereotipos que los llevan a riesgos innecesarios. ABSTRACT Talking about gender is analyzing on the living conditions of women and men, however, little is known about the needs that arise in men if we stop to refect on the possible disadvantages with which they also must learn to live. Social cons- tructionism was used as the theoretical focus of this research, incorporating the gender perspective. The aim of this research was analyze the socialization and learning process of being a man within the family, identifying some di- sadvantages that men experience in their process of identity construction. The methodology was qualitative, three men were interviewed, and content analysis was used to work on the information obtained. The results showed how education around gender becomes important in the construction of men, since the participants learned these socia- lly assigned roles and stereotypes, which lead them to hide their true emotions for fear of being singled out or judged. It is suggested to open more spaces for refection, where it is possible to recognize the needs and disadvantages that they also live in their condition as “invincible” men, where they can talk about themselves, promoting self-care of their health and their body, analyzing these forms of life based on stereotypes that take them to unnecessary risk.
