Abstract: Semantic Link Network SLN is a semantic extension of hyperlink network.
Based on the previous SLN model, this paper enriches the semantic links and reasoning
rules, proposes an algebra model that supports semantic reasoning and the management of
SLN by using a semantic matrix and presents the experiment for putting an SLN into
practice. A solution to efficiently manage a huge SLN by dividing the whole SLN into
partitioned semantic matrices is also put forth. The consistency issue about SLN is
discussed, based on the matrix representation. Experiment of establishing and using the
SLN shows the feasibility of the proposed model.

Academy of Sciences. He is the Founder of the China Knowledge Grid Research Group
(http://kg.ict.ac.cn), which has 30 young researchers. Currently, he is the Chief Scientist of
the China National Semantic Grid Project, a five-year project of the National Basic
Research Program of China. He was the keynote speaker at a number of international
conferences. He has organised several international journal special issues on Semantic Grid
and Knowledge Grid. He is serving as an Area Editor, an Associate Editor and is on the
editorial boards of many journals. His current research interest is the model and theory on
future interconnection environment and applications in China. His monograph
The Knowledge Grid is the first book in the area. He is the author of over 100 papers
