Email: eltonom@gmail.com Abstract This article aims to present the theoretical trends that constitute the notion of sociomateriality in the field of organizational studies and to describe a method- ological framework for conducting empirical research in this field. It is a con- tribution for those interested in understanding and using the sociomateriality approach theoretically and methodologically. The main conclusion is that sociomateriality is a valuable alternative not only for comprehending how the entanglement of human and non‐human actors may produce organiza- tions, their practices, and changes, but also for (re)thinking organizational phe- nomena both ontologically and methodologically. KEYWORDS organizational studies, post‐humanism, practices, sociomaterial research, sociomateriality JEL CLASSIFICATION M19 Résumé Dans le présent article, nous nous proposons d'une part, de présenter les ten- dances théoriques constitutives du concept de « sociomatérialité » en études organisationnelles et, d'autre part, de décrire un cadre méthodologique permettant de mener des recherches empiriques dans ce domaine. L'article est une ressource pour ceux qui cherchent à comprendre et à utiliser l'approche de la sociomatérialité sur les plans théorique et méthodologique. La principale conclusion est que la sociomatérialité permet non seulement de comprendre comment l'enchevêtrement d'acteurs humains et non humains produit les organisations, leurs pratiques et leurs changements, mais aussi de (re)penser les phénomènes organisationnels tant ontologiquement que méthodologiquement.
