Resumen: Entendemos que el reconocimiento de la función de los instrumentos líticos puede aproximarnos a las actividades que realizaban las primeras comunidades neolíticas que se asentaron en el NE de la península Ibérica. Uno de los contextos donde poder abordar tales cuestiones es el yacimiento al aire libre de Les Guixeres de Vilobí. Perteneciente al Neolítico antiguo, es uno de los pocos asentamientos de este periodo con estructuras internas y un número relevante de útiles líticos. En este trabajo presentamos una primera aproximación a la morfología, la tecnología y la funcionalidad de dicho utillaje. Su localización en el área excavada nos permite evaluar si hay una organización del espacio con respecto al lugar dónde se efectuaron ciertas actividades. Aunque este artículo se centra en Les Guixeres de Vilobí, los resultados funcionales serán contextualizados y comparados con otros yacimientos contemporáneos o próximos cronológicamente. AbstRAct: Understanding how faked stone tools were used by the frst farmers that settled in the northeast of the Iberian Peninsula can help us reconstructing their economic organization. The open-air site of Les Guixeres de Vilobí is an ideal context to carry out such a study. It is one of the few Early Neolithic sites in which internal subdivisions and structures have been recovered, together with an abundant lithic record. In this work we present a frst analysis of the morphological, technological, and functional aspects of the stone tools from Les Guixeres de Vilobí. The analysis of the distribution of the lithic remains within the excavated area allows us to evaluate whether a spatial organization of the economic activities existed. Despite mainly focusing on Les Guixeres de Vilobí, our results around the functional aspects have been integrated into a broader context and compared with other contemporary or chronologically close sites of the Iberian Neolithic.
