Gunung Salju Amban, Manokwari, Papua Barat andoyo@yahoo.com ABSTRACT Bali cattle breed is the most breed raised by farmer in West Papua including Inam and Jandurau village. This research aimed to analyze qualitative and quantitative traits of Bali cattle. Fourty six Bali cattle from 2-5 years old were sampled for observation of qualitative and quantitative traits. Data were analyzed statisticly descriptive by showing mean and standard deviation for quantitative traits and percentage for qualitative traits. Result showed that qualitative traits of Bali cattle in Inam and Jandurau village were as follow small- thin jowls (88.76%), face color was same as body color (88.67%), the dominant color of skin was reddish (50.94%), the border color between body and behind was clear (96.22%), the border color between body and foot was clear (96.22%), black tail hair (96.22%), there was black eyes circle (100%), black line of ear (96.22%), straight line of back (71.69%), there was black line of back (92.45%), there was horns (100%), the direction of horns was backside (41.50%) and no wither (71.69%). The qualitative traits which consisted of body hight, body length and breast circle of female group of 2-2.5 years of old were 112.38±9.52; 106.90±4.76 and 140.80±9.28 cm respectively, group of 3-4 years old were 112.69±16.66; 111.17±5.00 and 164.53±33.30 cm respectively, group of >5 years old were 125; 116.33±33.30 and 194.66±66.66 cm respectively. Quantitative traits were better than those of minimum standard of Bali cow. There were deviation of qualitative traits of Bali cow in Inam and Jandurau village. Key Words: Bali Cattle, Qualitative Traits, Quantitative Traits ABSTRAK Rumpun sapi Bali merupakan rumpun sapi yang paling banyak dipelihara oleh peternak di Papua Barat termasuk di Kampung Inam dan Jandurau. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sifat kualitatif dan sifat kuantitatif sapi Bali di Kampung Inam dan Jandurau. Sebanyak 46 ekor sapi Bali dengan umur 2-5 tahun dijadikan sampel pengamatan sifat kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan menampilkan rata-rata dan standar deviasi untuk sifat kuantitatif, sedangkan untuk sifat kualitatif menampilkan persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sifat kualitatif sapi Bali di Kampung Inam dan Jandurau adalah bergelambir kecil tipis (88,76%), warna muka sama dengan tubuh (88,68%), warna kulit dominasi merah bata (50,94%), batas warna tubuh dengan bagian pantat jelas (96,23%), batas warna tubuh dengan bagian kaki jelas (96,23%), bulu ekor hitam (96,24%), terdapat lingkar mata hitam (100%), telinga ada garis hitam (97,12%), punggung terdapat garis lurus (71,70%), terdapat warna garis hitam pada punggung (92,45%), bertanduk (100%), arah tanduk ke belakang (41,52%) dan tidak ada punuk (71,71%). Sementara itu, sifat kuantiatif yang meliputi tinggi badan, panjang badan dan lingkar dada sapi betina kelompok umur 2- 2,5 tahun berturut-turut adalah 112,38±9,52; 106,90±4,76 dan 140,80±9,28 cm, kelompok umur 3-4 tahun adalah 112,69±16,66; 111,17±5,00 dan 164,53±33,30 cm, kelompok umur >5 tahun adalah 125; 116,33±33,30 dan 194,66±66,66 cm. Sifat kuantitatif tersebut lebih baik daripada sifat kuantitatif berdasarkan standar minimum sapi Bali induk. Terdapat penyimpangan sifat kualitatif sapi Bali di Kampung Inam dan Jandurau, Distrik Kebar. Kata Kunci: Sapi Bali, Sifat Kualitatif, Sifat Kuantitatif
