Dr. Metin UÇAR Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi, Eğitim Fakültesi, Güzel Sanatlar Eğitimi Bölümü, Resim İş Eğitimi Anabilim Dalı Abstract In this article, the aim is to examine the wall paintings on the surface of interior and exterior walls of Bekarlar mosque constructed in Berat city of Albania during Ottoman rule. The wall paintings detected in this scope, will be classified according to their locations and will be described according to their content. Besides the style properties and the effects of the era will be examined and analysis will be made in terms of technique and arrangement. Accordingly answer will be searched to the question how the central-rural interaction realized. Berat, is one of the important cities in Albania where many important pieces of architecture were constructed during Ottoman rulestarting from late 15th century until early 20th century. The structures built in the city are important with wall paintings and ornaments rather than their architectural and functional properties. BekârlarCamii in the city center is only one of the pieces of architecture having such property. The mosque which was constructed in early XVIII. Century has a different importance in terms of the baroque ornaments on the walls and the wall paintings made between them.
