ANALISIS FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MENGHAMBAT PENYELESAIAN STUDI MAHASISWA FMIPA UNM Hisyam Ihsan, Ahmad Zaki Jurusan Matematika, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Negeri Makassar email: ahmadzaki@unm.ac.id Abstrak Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengkaji prosedur analisis matematis analisis faktor (Factor Analysis) dan mengkaji faktor-faktor yang menghambat penyelesaian studi mahasiswa FMIPA UNM. Output dari penelitian ini yaitu (1) mengetahui prosedur analisis matematis analisis faktor, (2) mengetahui faktor- faktor yang menghambat penyelesaian studi mahasiswa FMIPA UNM, dan (3) menghasilkan karya tulis ilmiah yang dapat dipublikasi pada jurnal atau seminar. Penelitian ini merupakan gabungan dua jenis penelitian yaitu penelitian dasar dan penelitian terapan. Penelitian murni (pure research) yaitu mengkaji prosedur matematis analisis faktor. Tahapan penelitian terdiri atas (1) identifikasi, pemilihan, dan perumusan masalah, (2) kajian kepustakaan dan hasil penelitian yang relevan, (3) melakukan kajian penelitian, (4) menyusun pembahasan, dan (5) menyusun kesimpulan dan saran. Selanjutnya penelitian terapan yaitu penerapan analisis faktor dalam mengkaji faktor-faktor yang menghambat penyelesaian studi mahasiswa FMIPA UNM. Hasil penelitian diperoleh model umum analisis faktor sebagai berikut: X i = B i1 F 1 + B i2 F 2 + B i3 F 3 + ... + B ij F j + V i I selanjutnya hasil analisis faktor menunjukkan variabel-variabel yang signifikan mempengaruhi lama studi mahasiswa yaitu: kesehatan, intelegensi, kesiapan, bakat, minat, hubungan orangtua dan anak, hubungan antar anggota keluarga, keadaan ekonomi keluarga, latar belakang budaya, hubungan antara dosen dengan mahasiswa, hubungan antara mahasiswa dengan mahasiswa yang lain, kurikulum, disiplin kampus, lingkungan tetangga, aktivitas dalam masyarakat, dan organisasi. Hasil analisis faktor merekomendasikan faktor-faktor yang dominan dapat dikelompokkan menjadi 4 bagian yang terdiri atas: (1) faktor pertama diberi nama faktor intern dan pembelajaran; (2) faktor kedua diberi nama faktor kesiapan dan potensi diri; (3) faktor ketiga diberi nama faktor ekonomi dan manajemen kampus; dan (4) faktor keempat diberi nama faktor ekstern lingkungan masyarakat. Kata kunci: analisis faktor, faktor-faktor penghambat penyelesaian studi Abstract His study aimed to assess the mathematical analysis procedures factor analysis (Factor Analysis) and examines the factors that hinder the completion of the study FMIPA UNM student. The output of this study are (1) to know the factor analysis mathematical analysis procedures, (2) determine the factors that hinder the completion of the study FMIPA UNM student, and (3) generate scientific papers can be published in a journal or a seminar. This study is a combination of two types of research is basic research and applied research. Pure research (pure research) is reviewing the mathematical procedure of factor analysis. Stages of the study consisted of (1) the identification, selection and formulation of the problem, (2) the study of literature and the results of relevant research, (3) conduct research studies, (4) develop discussion, and (5) develop conclusions and suggestions. Further applied research is the application of factor analysis to study the factors that hinder the completion of the study FMIPA UNM student. The results obtained by the general model of factor analysis as follows: Xi = Bi1F1 + Bi2F2 + Bi3F3 + ... + BijFj + Vi I subsequent results of factor analysis showed significant variables that affect the student's study, namely: health, intelligence, readiness, talents, interests, relationship between parents and children, relationships between family members, family economic circumstances, cultural background, the relationship between lecturers and students, the relationship between a student by another student, curriculum, discipline campus, neighborhood, community activities, and organizations. Results of factor analysis recommends the dominant factors can be grouped into 4 sections consisting of: (1) the first factor named internal factors and learning; (2) the second factor named readiness factors and potential; (3) the third factor is named economics and management college; and (4) the fourth factor named external factors society.
