VERDAD Y REFERENCIA EN LA LITERA- TURA (POST-)POSTMODERNISTA 1 PAULA ROMERO POLO paromero@hum.uc3m.es UNIVERSIDAD CARLOS III DE MADRID Resumen: Este trabajo propone el estudio comparado de dos novelas, Urraca de Lourdes Ortiz y Últimas tardes con Teresa de Jesús de Cristina Morales. Nuestro objetivo es demostrar una evolución en la literatura postmoder- nista en España. Las reflexiones acerca de la misma po- sibilidad de dar cuenta de una historia a través de la na- rración —típicas en la literatura postmoderna— pasan en Últimas tardes... a un segundo plano debido a la volun- tad de la protagonista de compartir su verdad particular. Este espíritu puede identificarse con la producción teó- rica entorno al post-postmodernismo. Por otro lado, la verdad que la protagonista se afana en compartir tiene que ver con la denuncia de las condiciones de vida de las mujeres de su época. Al final del artículo, sugeriremos que Últimas tardes… construye un nuevo modelo de su- jeto femenino, caracterizado por una nueva asertividad. Abstract: This paper compares Urraca, by Lourdes Ortiz and Últimas tardes con Teresa de Jesús by Cristina Morales. Our goal is to prove an evolution inside Spanish post- modern literature. Reflections about the possibility of transmitting a story through narration, typical in post- modern literature, fade in Últimas tardes... due to the pro- tagonist’s will for sharing her own particular truth. This attitude can be linked with the theoretical production around post-postmodernism, which has been built and applied around the culture of other Western countries but not around the Spanish one. The truth that the pro- tagonist is willing to share has to do with the denounce- ment of women’s life conditions. At the end of this pa- per, we will suggest that Últimas tardes... builds up a new female subject, characterized by a new assertiveness.
