This type of research is qualitative in nature and relies on library data. The data analysis method that the author uses is a content analysis method accompanied by a historical approach. While the theory used to analyze al-Qaradawi's thinking is al-Jabiri's epistemological theory. The results showed that according to al-Qaradawi, historically, the moderation of the contemporary sunnah concept was the development of the sunnah epistem among us}u>liyi>n who reasoned with bayani, then experienced dynamics so as to form the contemporary sunnah epistem with al-sunnah al-tasyri' theory. iyah wa al-sunnah gair al-tasyri'iyah. Abstrak Penelitian ini mengungkap historisitas moderasi konsep sunnah menurut Yusuf al-Qaradawi sebagai pijakan epistemologi sunnah kontemporer. Adapun jenis penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif bersandar pada data-data pustaka. Metode analisis data yang penulis gunakan adalah metode content analysis disertai pendekatan historis. Sedangkan teori yang digunakan untuk menganalisis pemikiran al-Qaradawi adalah teori epistemologi milik al-Jabiri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa menurut al-Qaradawi, secara historis, moderasi konsep sunnah kontemporer merupakan pengembangan epistem sunnah di kalangan us}u>liyi>n yang bernalar bayani, kemudian mengalami dinamika sehingga membentuk epistem sunnah kontemporer dengan teori al-sunnah al-tasyri’iyah wa al-sunnah gair al-tasyri’iyah. Kata kunci: epistemologi, konsep sunnah, al-sunnah al-tasyri’iyah wa gair al-tasyri’iyah.
