Globalization has completely made the world a global village where interconnectedness, inter relationships, cultural relations, political relation s, religious relations, economic relations, familial relations and socio-political relations have been allowed to thrive effectively and efficiently. All these benefits have been made possible, particularly with the increasing growth of information and communica- tions technology the world over. However, the growth rate of information and communication technology, specifically, in terms of the internet and GSM has also promoted another dimension of criminality (online criminality). A number of criminal acts associated with the use of the internet and GSM have been identified and established and they include child pornography, adult pornography, cyber-terrorism, cyber laundering, cyber stalking and a host number of internet fraud (such as identity theft schemes, purchase scam, website scam, click fraud, international modern dialing, phishing, pharming, auction and retail schemes online, stock market manipulation schemes, etc.). This paper is actually meant to evaluate the extent of perpetration of all these forms of criminal acts in Nigeria and the world over, and to possibly suggest some ways by which the acts could be controlled to the barest minimum. It is really sad to note children and youths have been indicted of involving in all these forms of criminality. The paper will also deliberate on the links between children, youths and cyber crime and come up with some control measures against youth’s involvement in cyber crime. Introduction he reigning term in the world today is what is generally referred to as globalization. Globalization has become an issue of academic discourse, religious discourse, social discourse, political discourse and the likes. What makes this look like this may not be unconnected with the appreciable gains offered by globalization. Globalization has become fully embraced all over the world. The world, as it is, is gradually and completely becoming a global village, where interconnectedness, interrelationship, cultural relationships social relationships, political relationships, religious relations, educational relations, etc have been allowed to grow appreciably. Today, an individual in a country can possible communicate a group of individuals from different countries within a short while, courtesy information and communications technology. This is actually the trend in the world. People seem not to be afraid of how to get what, where and when. What is now paramount in people’s minds is how not to be negatively influenced by the events happening around, usually in the face of globalization. T T
