AN APPRAISAL OF PETER SINGER GLOBALIZATION ETHICS Oladipupo Ganiyu Oganiyu5@gmail.com Abstract While Singer maintains that recent developments have made it possible and necessary to adopt a new global ethnic which makes him argue that there is a need for one world. He believes that morality requires us to regard ourselves as occupying one world; as a result of this, he defend his moral view against philosophical criticisms in the course of discussing a fourth issue whether wealthy countries ought to give aid for the relief of poverty. The problem here is that every nation is driven with economic and financial gain coupled with the fact that developed nation makes profits through the capitalism ideology, a trait common with America, China, Russia federation, India, Brazil and many more. For instance, the case of America who happen to be world donor, it is no longer a hidden fact that when America offers help, it’s aim is to get in return especially the country’s natural resources as in the case of Iraq after ousting Saddam Hussein, America has exploit Iraq crude oil to its own territory, same is now happening in Libya after ousting Muammar Gaddafi all for the sake of preaching democracy. It then becomes crystal clear that global ethics which Singer is clamoring for becomes impossible because of the donor countries thinking of their interest and what to get back. In view of this, this study shall attempt a critical appraisal of globalization ethics and also justify that universal ethics is impossible in globalization.
