64 | IJHE Jg. 10 (2020), H 1 Sophie Pia Stieger Transformative Teory of Bildung: A new chapter in the German tale of Bildung Transformatorische Bildungstheorie: Ein neues Kapitel in der deutschen Geschichte der Bildung Contemporary philosophy of Bildung is writing a new chapter in its history: It bears the title Transformative Teory of Bildung. It continues the German new-humanist notion of Bildung in a (post-)modernized way. Transformative Teory of Bildung can be understood as an attempt to rescue the German philosophy of Bildung, which has lost its signifcance both within educational science and public discussion. Te emergence of this theory can be understood as an expression of the discipline-political struggle for the supremacy of a specifc philosophical concept of Bildung and its establishment as meta category of educational research and as a (moral) orientation for the individual’s conducts of life. Die zeitgenössische Bildungsphilosophie schreibt an einem neuen Kapitel ihrer Geschichte. Es trägt den Namen Transformatorische Bildungstheorie und setzt den neuhumanistischen Bil- dungsbegrifs in (post-)modernisierter Weise fort. Die Transformatorische Bildungstheorie kann als Rettungsversuch der deutschsprachigen Bildungsphilosophie verstanden werden, welche sowohl innerhalb der erziehungswissenschaftlichen als auch der öfentlichen Diskussion an Bedeutung verliert. Somit erscheint die Transformatorische Bildungstheorie als Ausdruck eines disziplinpoli- tischen Kampfes um die Vormachtstellung eines spezifsch philosophischen Bildungsbegrifs, sowie seine Etablierung als Metakategorie pädagogischen Handelns sowie (moralischer) Orientierung des individuellen Lebens.
