Untuk mengatasinya, seharusnya merekrut pemain dengan posisi Shooting Guard. Namun, pada draft pick ke- 2 pelatih Tom Thibodeau memilih Derrick Rose yang berada pada posisi point guard untuk bergabung di tim New York Knicks. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tepat atau kurang tepat keputusan Tom dalam memilih Rose untuk bergabung di tim New York Knicks pada draft pick ke-2 menurut data statistik 3P%, FG%, dan persentase kemenangan tim. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian: 1) Keputusan pelatih Tom benar dalam memilih Rose dilihat dari data statistik 3P% yang mengalami peningkatan. 2) Keputusan Tom benar dalam memilih Rose dilihat dari data statistik FG% yang mengalami peningkatan. 3) Menurut data statistik persentase kemenangan tim atau WIN% dan kriteria kemenangan tim keputusan Tom dalam memilih Rose bergabung benar. Persentase kemenangan tim naik 12% dari 44% menjadi 56%. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah dari data statistik yang digunakan yaitu, 3P%, FG%, dan WIN% mengalami peningkatan dari sebelum Derrick Rose bergabung tim New York Knicks. Kata Kunci: 3P%; Bola Basket; FG%; New York Knicks; WIN%. Abstract One of NBA teams the New York Knicks, shows a low 3P% statistic. To handle it, should have recruited a player with a Shooting Guard position. However, in 2nd draft pick coach Tom Thibodeau chose Derrick Rose who was in the Point Guard position to join the New York Knicks team. The purpose of the research was to find out whether Tom’s decision war right or wrong in choosing Rose to join the New York Knicks team in the 2nd draft pick according to 3P%, FG%, and win percentage statistic. Research method using descriptive quantitative research method. The research result: 1) Coach Tom’s decision was correct in choosing Rose, judging by the 3P% statistical data which has increased. 2) Coach Tom’s decision was correct in choosing Rose, judging by the FG% statistical data which has increased. 3) According to statistical data Win Percentage or WIN% and team’s winning criteria, Tom’s decision in choosing Rose to join was correct. Win percentage increased 12% from 44% to 56%. The conclusion of this research is from the statistical data used is 3P%, FG%, and WIN% an increased from before Derrick Rose joined New York Knicks team.
