Key words: pedagogical ideologies, 2000s Indonesian novels INTRODUCTION Ideological analysis i.e. analyzing texts to disclose hidden or covert ideologies usually used critical analysis. In term of discourse, there is critical discourse analysis (CDA). CDA rised when N. Fairclough (Fairclough, 1989) published Language and Power and the like, then in 1995 published Critical Discourse Analysis, in 2006 he published a book entitle Language and Globalization. Another expert in CDA is Teun A. van Dijk who published Discourse and Power (2008), Discourse and Society (2009), and some other books or articles published before. CDA is an inter-discipline study between linguistic study, especially discourse analysis, and the other subject like politics, sociology, education or pedagogy, and so on. As an interdiscipline study, CDA potentially can be used in many subjects. Besides discourse analysts, experts in politics, communication, and education can use CDA in their study. In education, for example, there were some studies using CDA, especially and teaching English as a second/foreign language (Martinez, 2012; Amri, 2015), also in teaching Indonesian (Jupriono, 2015). 1 Sriwijaya University, Corresponding author 2 Sriwijaya University 3 Sriwijaya University 4 Sriwijaya University
