INTRODUCTION The environment is unheeded for several years by the policymakers, industrialists, and academics with a common thought that production processes in industries have no harm to the environment but this dilapidation of the environment has resulted in climate change, pollution, air emissions, and water pollution by dangerous materials used by the manufacturing industries. The hospitality industry has been ignoring the adoption of green initiatives (Recycling, green energy) for decades as most of the guests in past were not considering these steps important because they were not getting any benefit in return. Now the customers are pressurizing the hotels to adopt environment-friendly practices and demands such tools to be provided which can measure their impact on the environment [1]. The firms have to focus on the environment first and should move towards the other important constructs like green human resource management practices [2]. The overall environmental awareness at the global level has pushed the firms to introduce and adopt the PEB practices and the majority of firms are participating in getting the title of being green in the industry [3]The hospitality industry is working on decreasing the environmental threats and now more ways are being opted to make their environment friendly[4]. With an increase in the number of hotels, the environmental tendency will also increase if there will be no effort and such situations can be handled by the correct leadership who will make the strategies about the social, sustainability, ecological and competitive advantages to meet the current environmental issues. The hospitality industry is the largest industry with participation in more than 10% of the global GDP and provides millions of jobs but at the same time, these hotels are consuming more natural resources and causing more environmental problems. In Pakistan, this industry is covering 3 % of the GDP whereas most of the hotels are family business hotels with huge emissions of carbon dioxide, wastage, and water pollution [5]. In the Pakistani hospitality industry, there is less awareness among the staff about the green aspects and how these hotels can participate in the sustainability of their environment. These hotels should create an environment so that the employees will feel free and generate their ideas about how to consume less energy and perform more pro-environmental behaviours [6] ISSN No:1001-2400 http://xadzkjdx.cn/ Journal of Xidian University VOLUME 16, ISSUE 2, 2022 https://doi.org/10.37896/jxu16.2/006 66
