Abstract
Monkeypox is a zoonotc infecton that causes painful or pruritc dermatologic lesions on the face, trunk,
limbs, genitals, and mucosal surfaces. Monkeypox cases increased exponentally in 2022, promptng the
World Health Organizaton and the United States Department of Health and Human Services to proclaim
it a public health emergency. The role of community health nurses towards monkeypox preventon
and control in transmission. We searched various databases like World Health Organizaton (WHO),
Centers for Disease Control and Preventon (CDC), American nurses Associaton (AnA), eMBASe, Web
of Science, CinAHL, PubMed, and Cochrane databases were comprehensively searched. This review
artcle focuses on the monkeypox pandemic, the transmission of the infecton, vaccinaton and the
role of healthcare workers. The healthcare role is crucial in preventng and promotng the monkeypox
pandemic. These results can be consolidated when policymakers plan to increase the implementaton
of the healthcare worker in the face of monkeypox and future global threats.
